He explained that Emirates Airlines will submit a request to the General Civil Aviation Authority regarding an amendment to “A380” to be used in cargo operations in a way that helps increase its carrying capacity, and it is expected that the carrier will receive a prompt response in this regard.
He stressed that the first shipments of the vaccine will arrive at the company’s facilities in the UAE during mid-December, and that the company’s responsibility is to transport and deliver the vaccine in coordination and cooperation with the producing companies.
He pointed out that the vaccine storage capacity at the “Emirates Air Cargo” vaccine center at Al Maktoum International Airport ranges from 4 to 5 thousand containers, and each container contains 100 thousand doses, stressing that the company plans to increase the cargo capacity by using the giant “A380” aircraft in the process.
