DUBAI: Chloé Zhao’s “Nomadland” took the top prize at the world’s leading cinematography event, the EnergaCamerimage Film Festival, on Saturday, in yet another coup for the Oscar-tipped film.

The recession-era road trip drama starring Frances McDormand follows a community of elderly, nomadic idealists who roam across America in worn-out vans and centers on double Oscar-winner McDormand in her role as a widow forced to take to the road after a mine closes, wiping her tiny community from the map.

“Nomadland” nabbed the Golden Frog award at the 28th edition of Camerimage, after picking up the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival.
