Fife College is gearing up to host its annual Food and Drink Festival on Saturday, March 16th. This popular event will take place at the College’s Kirkcaldy Campus, bringing together local food and drink producers and enthusiasts alike.
Running from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, the festival will feature cooking demonstrations from well-known chefs such as former MasterChef Finalist Sarah Rankin, Executive Pastry Chef Jonathan Belford, and Fairmont Head Chef Allan Lorente. Attendees can also look forward to demonstrations from the College’s lecturers and students.
As part of Fife Food and Drink Week (March 9th – 17th), the festival will host over 25 stalls showcasing a variety of local produce available for sampling and purchase. Workshops for both kids and adults, including cupcake decorating and wine tasting, will be available. Additionally, a special cocktail-making workshop featuring a ‘125’ cocktail created in honor of the College’s 125th anniversary will be running throughout the day.
Guests can also enjoy small plates and light snacks at The Academy, the student-run restaurant on the Kirkcaldy Campus. The Fife College food truck and exhibition truck will be outside, along with music, face painting, and other entertainment.
Chef Sarah Rankin expressed her excitement about cooking at the festival, highlighting the importance of celebrating culinary skills within the local community. Adam Fairweather, Academic Head for Business, Enterprise, and Tourism with Supported Programmes at Fife College, emphasized the festival’s role in bringing the community together to celebrate Fife’s rich food and drink scene.
