Youth Tour Opportunity for Texas High School Students

The Government-in-Action Youth Tour presents a unique opportunity for Texas high school students. This program invites young leaders to engage in an enriching educational journey to Washington, D.C., where they can explore iconic historical landmarks at no personal cost.

Participating in the Youth Tour is about more than just sightseeing; it serves as a platform for students to connect with their peers, gain insights into the democratic process, and interact with elected officials. This experience is designed to foster a deeper understanding of government and civic responsibility, while also instilling inspiration and motivation among the next generation of leaders.

The trip will include visits to significant sites such as the Capitol Building, the White House, the Lincoln Memorial, and various museums, allowing participants to immerse themselves in the rich history of the United States. Furthermore, students will have the chance to engage in discussions about critical issues with their representatives, giving them a firsthand look at the workings of democracy.

Applicants interested in this exceptional opportunity must submit their applications online at the official MidSouth Electric Cooperative website. The application deadline is set for February 7, 2025. It is advisable for students to prepare their applications early to ensure they meet all requirements.

In addition to the Youth Tour, MidSouth Electric Cooperative also offers scholarships for students pursuing further education. Information regarding these scholarships, as well as detailed instructions for the Youth Tour application process, can be obtained by contacting the cooperative directly via email.
