Medium Rare, a fast-growing producer of live events and brand manager, has taken over the reins of the popular ChainFest food celebration from LA. This multi-year deal marks a new chapter for the event, which saw great success in its inaugural edition last year.
Co-founded by B.J. Novak of ‘The Office’ fame and chef Tim Hollingsworth, ChainFest drew in a star-studded crowd at its first outing. With Jack Davis, founder of Crypt TV, as another co-founder, the stakeholders of ChainFest are looking to expand the festival into a broader entertainment event, incorporating live music and more engaging activities. The plan is to launch the fest in New York and other cities across the U.S.
Medium Rare, founded by Joe Silberzweig and Adam Richman, has a strong collaboration with Shaquille O’Neal, who facilitated a significant deal in 2020 where Authentic Brands acquired a 20% stake in the company. Last month, Medium Rare secured a strategic investment from Palm Tree Crew, valuing the company at million.
Known for organizing popular events like Travis Kelce’s Kelce Jam, Guy Fieri’s Flavortown Tailgate, and Rob Gronkowki’s Gronk Beach, Medium Rare is a prominent event producer during Super Bowl Weekend. Adapting to the challenges posed by the pandemic, the company shifted its focus to become a broadcast and virtual production company, delivering hit streaming events like ‘Shaq vs. Gronk’ and ‘Black Entrepreneurs Day.’
