DuBois Early Learning Resource Center to Hold Anniversary Celebration

DuBois Welcomes One-Year Anniversary of Early Learning Resource Center Hub with Press Conference and Open House

DuBois, PA – The Northwest Institute of Research, Inc. (NWIR), in collaboration with the Early Learning Resource Center (ELRC), is set to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the ELRC Region 2 Hub. Scheduled for Wednesday, July 23, at 11:30 a.m., the event will take place at the hub’s location at 5 Beaver Drive in DuBois. The milestone will feature a press conference alongside a ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the institution’s commitment to enhancing early childhood education and care across the region.

ELRC Region 2 encompasses a diverse array of nine counties: Cameron, Clarion, Clearfield, Elk, Forest, Jefferson, McKean, Potter, and Warren. This service area highlights the ELRC’s significant role in providing accessible childcare resources to a broad demographic. Notably, lunch will be offered at the event, and those wishing to partake are encouraged to RSVP by contacting NWIR at info@nwir.org, specifying the number of attendees.

Prior to the press conference, the hub will host an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., aimed at fostering connections among childcare providers, families utilizing ELRC services, and the broader community. This event presents an excellent opportunity for participants to engage with leadership and staff, explore the facilities, and receive complimentary items, as well as participate in raffle basket giveaways.

The ELRC plays a pivotal role in local communities as a comprehensive resource for childcare information. It provides families with guidance on high-quality childcare options tailored to their specific needs, and it facilitates personalized referrals to childcare providers. Additionally, the ELRC administers the Child Care Works program, which offers subsidized childcare assistance, enhancing accessibility for families in need.

The Northwest Institute of Research, Inc. has established itself as a leader in public and private human service collaborations, dedicated to building and operating high-quality, accountable programs. Since 2018, NWIR has successfully operating ELRC Region 1, serving Crawford, Erie, Mercer, and Venango counties, and it expanded its services to include ELRC Region 2 in 2024.

This anniversary celebration not only marks a year of significant achievements but also underscores the center’s ongoing commitment to uplifting local families by providing the essential resources needed for early childhood education and care.
