Free multi-neighborhood festival heading to Stretford in July

Get ready for the first-ever StretFest, a neighborhood-wide festival set to transform Stretford on Saturday, July 6, 2024. The event, organized by the Stretford Town Centre Forum, will showcase Stretford’s vibrant culture and community through music, art, dance, and interactive workshops at various venues and public spaces.

The festival will offer a wide range of activities, including a kids’ craft trail, spoken word performances, storytime sessions, and local history workshops at Stretford Library. Other highlights include a pop-up ‘wellness garden’ promoting health and wellbeing, a brass band performance with cream teas at Victoria Park, local bands and DJs at Head Bar, and entertainment like Silent Discos, choirs, circus workshops, and a BBQ at Stretford Public Hall.

Bruntwood will even provide additional space by closing a temporary car park to host cycling and active travel activities at the Mall. The full festival program will be revealed in early June.

Andy Simpkins, Chair of Stretford Town Centre Forum, expressed excitement for StretFest, calling it an opportunity to experience the community spirit and cultural richness of Stretford. He encouraged everyone to mark the date in their calendars and join in the day of fun and festivity.

Bethany Adam, Head of Purpose and Impact at Bruntwood, echoed the sentiment, praising StretFest as a celebration of all things Stretford and urging the local community to participate in the diverse activities offered.
