The Grand Opera House in Belfast has announced the launch of its Grand Family Festival in partnership with Phoenix Energy, scheduled to take place from Monday 19 to Saturday 24 August 2024.
Tickets are now available for this exciting festival, offering a week-long celebration of theatre and the arts with a diverse range of 25 workshops, activities, and events suitable for children and families.
Ian Wilson, Chief Executive of the Grand Opera House, expressed his enthusiasm for the festival, stating, “The Grand Family Festival promises to entertain, educate, engage, and inspire attendees of all ages. We are thrilled to collaborate with Phoenix Energy to bring a week of excitement and entertainment to families throughout Northern Ireland.”
The festival will feature a wide variety of workshops and activities, including magic and puppetry, family ballet, Bollywood Baba dance classes, creative writing sessions, and ‘play in a day’ workshops. Additionally, participants can enjoy family-focused tours and technical classes in stage sound and lighting. Special Access Day events will also be available for individuals with additional sensory or physical needs.
Jonathan Martindale, Director of Business Development at Phoenix Energy, shared his enthusiasm for the partnership, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in their responsible business activities. He highlighted the opportunity to engage families with a diverse program of workshops and activities suitable for all ages.
Furthermore, the Grand Opera House and Phoenix Energy have collaborated to present ‘Phoenix High Energy Dance Workshops’ on Monday 19 August. Led by professional dance facilitator Óran Clarke, these workshops will combine musical theatre songs with a hip-hop dance routine, inviting young people of all experience levels to participate and learn new choreography interpretations.
