Step back in time and experience the rich history of the Chippewa Valley at the annual event, The Past Passed Here. Celebrating its 21st year, this event held at Marshall Park in Chippewa Falls will transport visitors to the fur trade and logging eras of the area.

Coordinator Jim Schuh promises an interactive and educational experience for attendees of all ages. With dozens of fur trade era camps set up to showcase life in the Chippewa Valley 150 years ago, visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the history of the region. Over 12,600 school children have already benefited from this hands-on learning experience over the years.

Authenticity is key at The Past Passed Here, with dedicated reenactors coming from all over the Midwest to demonstrate pioneer life and survival skills from the 1800s. From rope making to blacksmithing to Dutch-oven cooking, there will be no shortage of activities to participate in and learn from at the event.

In addition to the historical demonstrations, attendees can enjoy historic-themed food and shopping options, including the famous “Voyageur Stew.” A new addition this year is the voyageur canoe photo station, where visitors can capture a moment inside a traditional canoe.

The Past Passed Here will take place over three days, from May 10-12, offering plenty of time for visitors to explore and enjoy all that the event has to offer. Admission is for adults and for a family, making it an affordable and enriching experience for all who attend.
