Dunwoody’s Lemonade Days, a beloved tradition in the city, is gearing up for its 24th year with an exciting new addition – a Battle of the Bands competition featuring high school bands.
Hosted by the Dunwoody Preservation Trust and sponsored by Fifth Third Bank, the five-day festival from April 17-21 will take place at Brook Run Park. Attendees can look forward to carnival rides, food vendors, pony rides, a petting zoo, author booths, and the popular Dunwoody Idol competition.
This year, a Battle of the Bands will follow the Dunwoody Idol competition, showcasing talent from Mt. Vernon Presbyterian School, Peachtree Charter Middle School, Dunwoody High School, and Atlanta Academy.
“We are very excited about this new contest for 2024,” said event organizer Hope Follmer. “We always try to introduce something new each year, and this is going to be a fun contest.”
In addition to the competitions, the festival will feature an expanded lineup of authors with book signings and purchases available. Festival-goers can also check in items like backpacks and bikes for free at the lost & found tent.
The festival’s schedule is as follows:
– Wed., April 17: 4 p.m. – 10 p.m.
– Thurs., April 18: 4 p.m. – 10 p.m.
– Fri., April 19: 4 p.m. – 10 p.m.
– Sat., April 20: 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.
– Sun., April 21: 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Entrance to the festival is free, with wristbands for unlimited rides available for purchase. The proceeds from Lemonade Days go towards maintaining the historic 1870 Donaldson-Bannister Farm and supporting community events and educational programs.
