Summit Daily News is embarking on an ambitious project that aims to digitize our entire archive dating back to 1989. Yes, you read that right! For over three decades, we have been chronicling the stories, events, and people that make this area unique. However, much of this invaluable material remains in hard copy and is not easily accessible to the public.
In collaboration with the Colorado Historic Newspapers Collection (CHNC), we are setting out to rectify this. Our goal is to make these historical documents easily accessible for research, education, and nostalgia. The full digitization project is projected to cost approximately 5,000. Every penny raised through donations in 2023 will go directly toward this important task.
