Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency Launches Innovative Mobile App for Veterans

LANSING, Mich. — The Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA) has introduced a new mobile application, MiVeteran, aimed at streamlining the process for veterans and transitioning service members to access their earned benefits and an array of support services. This initiative is part of the state agency’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the lives of veterans and their families across Michigan.

The MiVeteran app, which is available for free download on both the App Store and Google Play Store, empowers users with quick access to critical information and resources. According to Brian Love, the director of the MVAA, the application is designed to eliminate barriers to accessing vital services. “The launch of this mobile app represents a significant advancement in our ongoing commitment to serving veterans,” Love stated. “By putting essential benefits and resources right at their fingertips, we’re making it easier than ever to access the support they’ve earned — anytime, anywhere.”

Among the core features the app provides are direct resources for obtaining DD-214 requests—an important document for veterans—information on finding veteran service officers, and an overview of the State of Michigan’s benefits programs. Additionally, the app encompasses assistance in critical areas such as employment, education, housing, health care, and disability services.

MiVeteran further serves as a comprehensive guide for transitioning service members, offering resources to help them acclimate to civilian life. It also highlights Michigan’s unique job opportunities and community resources, making it a valuable tool for veterans considering employment and education within the state.

The establishment of the MiVeteran app reflects the MVAA’s strategic approach to improving quality of life for veterans. As the central coordinating body in the state, the agency is dedicated to advocating for veterans and their families, while also identifying and addressing the various challenges they encounter in sectors like employment, healthcare, and education. By facilitating easier access to critical resources, the MVAA aims to make Michigan an attractive place for veterans to live, work, and retire.
