The Cannes Film Festival is not only a celebration of cinematic art but also a showcase of high fashion. Stars like Greta Gerwig, Cate Blanchett, Demi Moore, and Selena Gomez have graced the red carpet in stunning designer outfits like Prada, John Paul Gautier, Schiaparelli, and San Laurent. The festival has become a hub of glamour where ball gowns are seen at all hours of the day.

Some of the standout red carpet looks include French singer Yazold in Christian Dior’s iconic new look and Hunter Schafer in a mesmerizing iridescent blue dress. Self-referential looks seem to be a trend this year, with fashion brands revisiting their archives to create new ensembles. Naomi Campbell even wore an outfit from 28 years ago, showcasing timeless style.

Designers from around the world, like Kevin from LA, fly in to display their collections inspired by the beauty of Cannes and the Cote d’Azur. The festival also featured a powerful apartheid documentary, “Ernest Cole Lost and Found,” shedding light on the work of photographer Ernest Cole during South African apartheid.

Director Miguel Gomez presented the black and white period drama “Grunt” at Cannes, telling the story of Molly Singleton’s search for her missing husband in 1917 Burma. The film explores themes of faith and resilience, offering a different perspective on Asian women characters.

Wrapping up the festival was the first Somali film to ever screen at Cannes, “The Village Next to Paradise.” This intimate family drama set in a Somali fishing village showcases the strength of love and family bonds.

The Cannes Film Festival was a whirlwind of film premieres, fashionable red carpet moments, and thought-provoking stories, leaving audiences captivated and inspired.
